Glass and Rubber Polishing Pad for Fiber Optics
Glass and Rubber Polishing Pads are critical components in fiber optic connector polishing processes. These polishing pads provide a stable, uniform surface that supports polishing films during multi-step procedures, ensuring precise end-face geometry, excellent fiber protrusion control, and consistent surface flatness.
Widely used in MT, MPO, MTP, LC, SC, FC connector polishing, these pads are designed to work with all major polishing machines and fixtures from brands like Seikoh Giken, Domaille, Senko, and Yamamoto.
We offer two main types of polishing pads to meet various application needs:
Material: Precision flat optical glass
Hardness: Ultra-rigid (Shore D ≥ 90)
Thickness: Standard 3mm or custom available
Function: Provides absolute flatness, ensures minimal deformation, ideal for end-face geometry control
Use Case: MT/MPO/MTP connectors, high-volume production lines
Material: High-durability synthetic rubber
Hardness Options: Shore A 35, 45, 55, 65
Thickness: 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm (custom available)
Function: Offers controlled flexibility, helps with even pressure distribution, absorbs minor height variations
Use Case: LC/SC/FC connectors, angled polishing (APC), intermediate finishing
Improved Fiber End-Face Geometry
Reduced Under- or Over-Polish Defects
Supports Consistent Surface Pressure
Reusable and Easy to Mount
Compatible with all polishing films and slurries
A recommended polishing pad setup includes:
csharpCopyEdit[Polishing Film] [Rubber Pad (optional)] [Glass Pad or Metal Plate] [Polishing Fixture]
Rubber pads can be stacked on top of glass for APC connectors or delicate geometries, providing controlled compliance and better polishing control.
